The unstretched GEM.

The unstretched GEM and acrillic frame that will be
used to help stretch the GEM.
The unstretched GEM is placed on top of the acrillic
frame and centered.
Kapton tape is applied around the edge of the GEM to
secure it to the frame.
A second frame is added to the top of the essembly
and attached to the lower frame with screws to clamp
the GEM between the two frames. Finally, the essembly
is placed in the oven at 50 degrees celsius for twenty
minutes to initially streatch the GEM.
While the GEM is being initially strectched, the G-10
frame to be attached to the streatched GEM is prepared.
The G-10 frame will be secured to the GEM with adhesive.
A small amount of adhesive is applied around the edge
of the G-10 frame.
The G-10 frame is placed on the baking sheet, adhesive
up, ready to be attached to the initially streatched GEM.
The essembly is now removed from the oven and has
been initially streatched.
After removing the essembly from the oven, it is placed
on top of the G-10 frame. The essembly will now be placed
back into the oven for curing and final strechting.
The essembly is secured to the baking sheet.
The essembly will remain in the oven for 1 hour and held at
50 degrees celsius.
After 1 hour, the essembly is removed from the oven and
is disassembled in reverse order.
First, the top frame is unattached. Then the kapton
tape is removed. Finally, the edges of the GEM will be
trimmed back flush with the attached G-10 frame.
