Several research groups worldwide are conducting large-scale surveys with unprecedented sensitivity to radio pulsars. The motivation for such surveys ranges from understanding the overall population of neutron stars in the Galaxy, to testing relativistic gravity theories or constraining the nature of matter at supranuclear densities. In this talk I will describe the various efforts, focusing on surveys using the Arecibo and Green Bank Telescopes. I will provide overall status reports and highlight particularly interesting recent discoveries.
