Professor Robert Birgeneau

Professor Birgeneau is a condensed matter physicist investigating phases and phase transition behaviors of novel states of matter. He has received numerous awards including the Buckley Prize of the APS in 1987 and the IUPAP Magnetism Award for 1997. He is currently Dean of the School of Science at MIT.
