Title: "Extra Dimensions, New Forces, and Non-Newtonian Gravity"

Abstract:
Recent theoretical work has raised the possibility that not only do we live in a world with more than 3 spatial dimensions, but that these extra dimensions can actually be detected - at least indirectly. One hint for the existence of extra dimensions would be a breakdown of Newton's law of gravitation over short distances. This talk will review the current status of tests of Newton's law, and describe an experiment underway at Purdue to test Newton's on the nanometer scale.
