STATUS OF CLAMSHELL
#1
- Layer 1 / 2 first clamshell arrived Ithaca
9/8/99
STATUS OF CLAMSHELL
#2
- 3/3 layer 1 mounted and tested
- 3/5 layer 2 mounted and tested
CLAMSHELL #2 IS ON
HOLD PENDING
REPLACEMENT PARTS
SINCE 9/15/99
- 1 layer 2 ladder (FL202) has 55 opens we have not
added diamond to this yet B56 NL2-25 in process at Purdue (one
side is now wire-bonded) is intended as replacement part
- 1 layer 2 ladder (FL208) has cracked hybrid
(about 150 p-side opens, + n-side opens) We are expecting
replacement parts for this ladder perhaps next week? (See Fred's
e-mail of 10/5, B83 East starter and B117/NL2-10 West starter
being assembled at Cornell now)
STATUS OF LAYER
3
- 18 ladders (126 wafers x2 L1+L2)
- 100% diamond disassembled
- 100% diamond cleaned for layer 3
- 100% v-beams fabricated and certified
- 15 (15) ladders complete with diamond
- 1 (1) ladders complete without diamond
(FL314)
- 2 ladders remain to be built
- 10 (10)/18 ladders mounted, 10(9) tested
- Fraction of all processing complete : 93%
STATUS OF L3 BY
LADDER
- FL301 on cone OK (contaminated diamond)
- FL302 on cone OK (contaminated diamond)
- FL303 on cone OK (contaminated diamond)
- FL304 on cone OK (contaminated diamond)
- FL305 on cone OK (contaminated diamond, elevated
p-stop current but stable)
- FL306 center contaminated diamond replaced
elevated p-stop current but stable, awaits mounting
- FL307 on cone OK (elevated p-stop current but
stable)
- FL308 center contaminated diamond replaced,
awaits test
- FL309 on cone OK
- FL310 elevated p-stop current but stable, will
repeat burn-in before mounting
- FL311 on cone no n-side strip isolation,large
unstable p-stop current probably need to de-mount and inspect
part but will burn-in tonight in case we get lucky)
- FL312 on cone (elevated p-stop current but
stable)
- FL313 on cone (elevated p-stop current but
stable)
- FL314 returned from Cornell today will test, Then
evaluate ladder flip procedure and R/C FE p-side bond pulling. If
comfortable proceed to pull suspect channel identified at Cornell.
If not comfortable use part as is (diamond still needs to be
added to this part)
- FL315 elevated p-stop current but stable will
repeat burn-in before mounting
- FL316 OK awaits mounting
- FL317: not yet made, HL323 and HL407 are
ready
- FL318, not yet made HL324 very high n/p currents
needs replacement wafer part at Cornell, will be shipped this
week.
STATUS OF LAYER
4
- 26 ladders (260 wafers x2 L3)
- 100% diamond disassembled
- 90% diamond cleaned for layer 4
- 10% of diamond is still conductive after
cleaning. These parts have been re-cleaned, and were probed
yesterday and look good
- 25 (22) of 26 v-beams fabricated, 14 of 16 (13 of
15) certified
- 10 (9) ladders complete without diamond
- 4 (3) ladders complete with diamond
- 0/26 ladders mounted,
- Fraction of all processing complete : 70%
To complete L4
we need to build:
- 12 (14) Full Ladders (we have HL's for 8
(10)ladders fully processed (this total includes HL554 and
HL512)
- 8HL need to be built ( 6 starters not yet at
Purdue)
- 6 out of 8 wafer chains are ready
- 2 out of 8 wafer chains have problem with 4th
wafer which was removed. Status: part tested fine after removal of
problematic 4th wafers in each case: wil re-build WC's after WC
building machine is put back under CMM
- Discovery that 1 wafer chain had every other
wirebond missing on n-side for last wafer. Have removed wafer and
will add a new wafer at opposite end next week
- Recovery of HL554 (fried, at Cornell, status?)
- Recovery of HL512 (interrupted p-stop bias line,
crack- now at Purdue part in process
