CLAMSHELL #2 IS ON HOLD PENDING REPLACEMENT PARTS SINCE 9/15/99

1 layer 2 ladder (FL202) has 55 opens no diamond added . Replacement part B56 NL2-25 in process at Purdue (both sides are now wire-bonded and encapsulated)
1 layer 2 ladder (FL208) has cracked hybrid (about 150 p-side opens, + n-side opens)
Replacement parts for this

ladder B83/NL2-07 East starter and B117/NL2-10 West starter arrived at Purdue 10/14 and tested OK

2^nd wafers glued 10/15, n-side w.b. and tested 10/18

18 ladders (126 wafers x2 L1+L2)
100% diamond disassembled
100% diamond cleaned for layer 3
100% v-beams fabricated and certified
16 (15) ladders complete with diamond
2 ladders remain to be built

- FL301 on cone OK (contaminated diamond)
- FL302 on cone OK (contaminated diamond)
- FL303 on cone OK (contaminated diamond)

- FL305 on cone OK (contaminated diamond, elevated p-stop current but stable)
- FL306 center contaminated diamond replaced elevated p-stop current but stable, awaits mounting
- FL307 on cone OK (elevated p-stop current but stable)
- FL308 center contaminated diamond replaced, elevated p-stop current but stable, on cone 10/18 awaits test
- FL309 on cone OK
- FL310 elevated p-stop current but stable, awaits mounting (since 10/11)
- FL311 on cone no n-side strip isolation, large unstable p-stop current de-mounted and inspected. Currents lower after de-mounting. Sent to Cornell for evaluation, need returned by 10/21
- FL312 on cone (elevated p-stop current but stable)
- FL313 on cone (elevated p-stop current but stable)
- FL314 returned from Cornell last week. Tested fine. Flipped and pulled R/C FE suspect p-side bond (Kirk 10/8) Part now looking good. Diamond added 10/15
- FL315 elevated p-stop current but stable, mounted (10/13) tested OK 10/14
- FL316 OK mounted 10/18 a.m. awaits test
- FL317: not yet made, HL323 and HL407 are ready
- FL318, not yet made HL324 being re-built. At Cornell for bonding, need returned by 10/20, JimA has arranged for Jack to come in Monday or Tuesday evening.

26 ladders (260 wafers x2 L3)
100% diamond disassembled
100% diamond cleaned for layer 4
(10% of diamond was re-cleaned)
25 of 26 v-beams fabricated, 19 of 25 (16 of 19) certified
17 ladders are made
4 (6) ladders complete without diamond
13 (10) ladders complete with diamond
9 (7) of 12 ladders ready for mounting

To complete L4 we need to build:

9(10)Full Ladders (we have HL¹s for 5(6)ladders fully processed (this total includes HL554 at Cornell) 8HL need to be built ( 6 starters not yet at Purdue)
5 out of 8 wafer chains are ready

3 out of 8 wafer chains are in process of having 4^th wafer replaced and re-bonded

Two HL¹s with high currents 526/534 were on hold pending a decision on usability of FL105.

Subsequently we overlooked these parts, they were burned-in this weekend for 60+ hours. 526 now has n/p currents of 23 microA while 534 has n/p current of 65 microA.
