Bill C. Riemers,
After a brief Post Doc at Purdue, I spent about a year doing software consulting while searching for another Post Doc position. I then went to work for AT&T Labs as a Senior Software Developer, and then to LizardTech, Inc. as a Software Development Manager. During that time I published 4 professional publications in the area of CS. With the .com crash, and downsizing, I have again found my self-doing misc. consulting while searching for a new position. The only thing that allows me to find enough consulting business to feed my family is the professional contacts I have made over the years.
Timothy Gong, Tim_Gong@mvis.com
After a few years, returned to academic life in San Diego pursuing a M.S. in physics. Defended my thesis on external cavity regulation of diode lasers last Spring. Was employed in San Diego at Cymer Laser Technologies as a engineer working on eximer discharge chambers. Last year moved to Seattle to begin work at Microvision as a Photonics Engineer. I Am hopeful to begin doctoral program soon.

After doing nothing but computational physics, I started to branch out to computational science in general. This included chemistry, material science and mathematics.
George Simler IV, ivsimler@attbi.com
After graduating from Purdue in 1992 I immediately entered grad school at Texas A&M University. After a lot of work I received my Master's degree in Physics, specializing in experimental nuclear physics (I studied the Giant Monopole Resonance as excited in certain metals by 240MeV alpha particles). Finishing that, I then made a bit of a career change by going to the two year graduate program in public policy at the University of Chicago. After finishing school in 1999 I worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in the economic research department for 6 months before moving to an economic litigation support consulting firm called Chicago Partners where I still currently work.
William Struzinski, wstruz@gateway.net
After graduating from Purdue University I accepted employment as a development engineer at the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York. I left Kodak after one year to accept a career appointment at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI. I was employed at NUWC during the summer months while in college, but was unable to obtain career appointment immediately after graduating from Purdue due to a hiring freeze. While employed at Kodak, the hiring freeze was lifted, and I was offered a career appointment as a physicist. I decided to accept the appointment, and I have been employed at NUWC ever since (i.e. the past 27 years).
