The MOJAVE program is
currently observing
nearly
300 compact
AGN in the
northern sky. No new sources will be added within the current approved program. The list is composed of the
following:
- all previously known EGRET gamma-ray AGN
above
declination -20°
- 33 low-luminosity AGN (15 GHz luminosity
< 1026
W/Hz)
- 6 gigahertz-peaked or compact steep spectrum sources
- 7 AGN from the previous 2cm Survey that have
unusual kinematics
- 32 flaring AGN and 10 hard-spectrum AGN detected by Fermi (up to June 2012) that are bright enough
for VLBA fringe detection (> 200 mJy at 15 GHz)
- 102 gamma-ray selected AGN from the sample of Lister et al. 2011
- any additional AGN above dec. -30° that are known to have exceeded S_VLBA = 1.5 Jy at 15 GHz between 1994.0 and 2010.0
The original
135 AGN
in the flux-limited
MOJAVE-1
survey had the following criteria:
