High Energy Astrophysics
Astrophysics, the study of the universe and the laws that govern
physical processes in it, has experienced many extraordinary
developments in recent decades. Technological advances in
instrumentation, detectors, and computing for both ground-based and
orbiting observatories have led to a wealth of discoveries at
wavelengths ranging from low energy radio waves to very high energy
gamma-rays.
Purdue's high energy astrophysics group is involved
in several major projects that seek to push the boundaries of our
understanding of the most energetic processes in the known
Universe. Recent advances in technology allow for many
possibilities for observational and theoretical research. This
website's goal is to give prospective students and fellow scientists
the opportunity to explore, learn, and keep up to date with the most
current astrophysical research at Purdue University
