Voyager Lab--Spring Intro
Summary
This lab familiarizes you with the program Voyager II, and some of the
features that it has. You browse the sky, examining constellations
and planets, conjunctions, and the Moon's phases.
Concepts
A conjunction
occurs when two celestial objects (such as two planets,
or a planet and a star) appear very close together in the sky. Voyager
allows you to take a close look at many recent conjunctions, such as
the one that will occur in on May 18, 2000.
This lab also takes a brief look at the phases of the Moon. You observe
the moon as it passes through it's phases: Full, Waning Gibbous,
Last Quarter, Waning Crescent, New, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter,
Waxing Gibbous, and back to Full.
Last updated on April 3, 2000.
