Description:
This course is a continuation of PHYS 564. Therefore, it is expected that the students are familiar with particle detection techniques, statistical interpretation of data and with Quantum Electro Dynamics. In 590E we will study the electroweak theory which is the basis of the Standard Model of particles and their interaction. We will focus on spontaneous symmetry breaking and introduce supersymmetry.
