Galactic And Extragalactic Astrophysics

Prerequisites: Lower division undergraduate level course work in Astronomy and Astrophysics, or Astronomy, or Astronomy and Astrophysics, Other. Authorized equivalent courses or consent of instructor may be used in satisfying course pre- and co-requisites.

Description: (PHYS 561) Covers basic observed properties and models of galactic structure, dynamics of stars, physics of interstellar medium, formation of galaxies, properties of clusters of galaxies, and dark matter.
