Evening Open Hours

Each Fall and Spring semester, the department opens PHYS 8 to laboratory make-up work from six to nine pm on Thursdays.

Students are free to make up missed labs within two weeks during the evening open hours (sometimes beyond two weeks, if the required equipment remains available).

However, the assistant in charge cannot excuse an absence. They are instructed to take all comers. Excusing an absence from lab (and allowing the student to receive credit for the work) is the responsibility of the student's regular graduate teaching assistant. The evening open hours assistant is instructed only to report the student's participation to the appropriate graduate teaching assistant. Participation does not automatically result in credit.
