Purdue CMS
How to Get Grid Certificates and register to CMS VO Print

Purdue CMS Tier-2 uses the DOEgrids certificate authority to obtain certificates (or user certificate or x.509 certificate).

Requesting a new grid certificate

The whole process for obtaining the certificate is described at http://www.uscms.org/SoftwareComputing/Grid/GettingStarted/certificate_procedure.html. As mentioned in the link, you shall not remove your browser, reinstall your computer or replace your computer after you applied the grid certificate. Otherwise, you have to stop the current application or get rid of the currrent grid certificate and re-apply.

The form to request a new grid certificate is at DOEgrids site: http://pki1.doegrids.org.

In the form, you need to fill your personal information. In addition, please set the following:

Affiliation: OSG
VO Name for OSG:  CMS
Name of Sponsor: Haiying Xu
Sponsor's Email: This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it
Sponsor's Phone Number: 765-49-69614

The sponsor's information is also presented at USCMS certificate team. After you applied the grid certificate, please present your request's serial number to Haiying Xu ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) at YONG 526. Therefore, I can confirm your application to DOEgrids.

CMS VO Registration

After you get the certificate, please refer here to import the certificate to your browser. Then you can go to CMS VO site to register to CMS VO. Usually, you just register as a cmsuser. This process may take longer time than you expect. If you don't want to get a CERN computer account, please comment it in the application, it may expedite the process.
