What scientific computing software is available at PCN?

On PCN research systems the following software packages are available for research computing:

* Mathematica
* Matlab
* Maple
* Compilers: gcc, g++, g77, IBM xlc and xlf
* Mn_fit fitting package
* Cernlibs
* Lapack, BLAS
* ROOT
* Java Development Kit
* PVM3 and MPICH parallel programming libraries.

* IBM ESSL Libraries

My Mathematica license is expiring!

When you launch Mathematica, you may see a “License
Expiring” notice. On or after the license expiration date,
that message will change to “License Expired.” In either
case, click the “Enter Password” button in that dialogue
box to bring up the “Personalize Mathematica” screen.

Maple

Maple is installed on amdahl.physics (Linux cluster).

The current version available on amdahl is Maple 8. Maple may be requested through ITaP for installation onto individual machines. For PCN-maintained machines, PCN can assist with this process.

Matlab

Purdue has a site license for use of Matlab anywhere on campus.

MatLab installation media is available for loan only to Faculty and Staff members.
You may stop by ITaP Shopping Offline at Stewart Center, Room G65, between 8-12 and 1-4:45, to check-out a 24-hr loaner copy.
