PAL2.0 Connecting Issue
Sometimes even if all of the settings are correct, PAL2.0 will still fail to acquire a correct DHCP lease. This could be deceptive, because AIRLINK may display that it's connected to PAL2.0 while retaining PAL-INSTRUCTIONS IP. This will prevent you from browsing.
Here are a few steps that can be taken in order to correct this problem:
1. Un-check automatic connection
In Airlink, make sure that “Automatically connect to known networks when they're broadcast” box is unchecked first.
2. Delete Certificates
Go to Applications, Utilities, and finally Keychain. In Keychain, delete all of the certificates.
3. Remove old 802.1X profiles
Go to System Preferences, Network, Airport, Advanced, 802.1X and delete all the WPA: PAL2.0 User Profiles listed. This clears out old cached usernames/passwords.
4. Remove old connections
Back to network settings, it is recommended that your wireless connection list/cache is clear before trying to connect to PAL2.0. If this to be avoided, make sure PAL2.0 is at the top above all other connections. Reboot.
5. Create PAL2.0 Profile
In network settings, click wireless tab, and then advanced. Click + and add new user profile. Type in your account information and name the connection PAL2.0. Click Apply and then Ok.
6. Connect to PAL2.0
Back in the Wireless tab, click on the connections box, and then click select “Join other..” Type out your career account information and name the network PAL2.0. For authentication, select WPA-Enterprise. Click connect, at which time a certificate prompt should come up. Click Show.. and check “Always trust” box. Reboot, and repeat step 5. You should be connected to PAL2.0 now. Browse away~
