Installing Network Printers

To install a network printer on a computer:

  1. Determine the name of the printer you want to use
  2. Click the Start button
  3. Select Run
  4. Type \\gutenberg.physics.purdue.edu
  5. Click OK
  6. If prompted, log in using the format ONEPURDUE\{your career account user name} and password
  7. In the window locate the printer you wish to use and double click on the icon.

A small dialog box should pop up indicating that the printer is being connected and installed on your computer. When it closes check to see if the printer was successfully installed.

To do so click: Start ยป Printers and Faxes if it appears in that window you have successfully installed the printer.

Note:

The poster printer is NOT available on the network. If you need to use it you will have to log into the computer sitting next to it in room 66. The computer in 66 is there for the sole purpose of running the poster printer and only the poster printer.
