This is a known incompatibility between Adobe Photoshop and Hewlett-Packard printers. Essentially, images cannot be directly printed from Photoshop. To work around the problem:
Scan or create your image in Photoshop.
Save the image as a jpeg, gif, or other image format.
Open the image with Picture Viewer. (Found under the Applications folder, or in Apple Menu → Applications)
Print the image with Picture Viewer.
