Use the following directions to print poster printers on the Physics Poster Printer, an HP DesignJet T790

The Poster Printer is currently located in room PHYS 66

If your poster prints improperly, do not try to print again. Instead, contact PCN for assistance, which we will gladly provide.

Upon logging in, you will need to launch Poster Printer utility, which should conveniently be located on your desktop:

Click Add Files to add PDF, PS, PPT, DWF, JPEG, TIFF or HP-GL/2 files to the queue.

If the poster needs to be revised, use software of your choice to do so. Once done, save and close the file so that you may add it to and print from HP IP utility.

Under Size options, you may adjust the desired dimensions or input your own.

You may also overwrite printer-chosen action by checking the Rotate 90 degrees box.

Make sure that image in the preview box meets the needs, dimensions, and orientation of your poster and click Print.

If your poster is in its final form, you may bypass the computer and plug your thumb drive directly into the front USB port of the poster printer.

Insert a USB flash drive containing one or more TIFF, JPEG, HP-GL/2, RTL, PDF or PostScript files into the printer's USB port. Please note that Powerpoint (PPT) files cannot be printed via this method and must use the HP Instant Print Utility, as detailed above.

At the front panel, go to the home screen and press USB Drive icon.

Select the file to be printed. Files that can be printed are indicated with “✓”; files that cannot be printed are indicated with “x”. You can press folders to browse their contents.

The default print settings are displayed. If you want to change them, press Settings.

Size allows you to resize the print in two different ways: to a percentage of its original size, or to fit a particular paper/roll size. The default is 100% (its original size).

Print quality allows you to set the print quality to Best, Normal or Fast.

Rotation allows you to rotate the print by any multiple of 90°, or you can choose Automatic, which rotates the print automatically if that will save paper.
