====== FTP Guide ====== **"I can't FTP to !"** This is correct, as PCN servers do not have ftp services installed. **FTP Is no longer a service offered by PCN as it violates University Policy.** PCN and University Policy now requires that file transfer should be done using methods that include encryption. There are several options available as a replacement for FTP services. - SCP - SCP will allow you to Securely CoPy files from a physics host to your local machine. Please consult the scp manual pages for more information on this topic. This method requires a Purdue Career Account. - Public Web Server - You can alternately place the files you need to share on your project's web space or on your personal web space on the Physics file servers. Please see our [[wiki:software:www:index|directions on how to enable this type of a setup]] for more information. - [[http://filelocker.purdue.edu|FileLocker]] - Purdue's Filelocker Service allows persons with a Purdue career account to post files to share and allows users to make one time file requests to others through email.
