The MOJAVE SAMPLE
The MOJAVE program is currently observing 200 compact AGN in the northern sky.
This list contains 59 jets of particular interest based on their gamma-ray properties, intrinsic luminosity, and/or kinematics, plus the 135 AGN in the flux-limited MOJAVE-1 survey, which have:
  • Declination greater than  -20 degrees
  • Galactic latitude |b| > 2.5 degrees
  • Total 2 cm VLBA flux exceeding 1.5 Jy at any epoch between 1994.0 and 2003.0 (>2 Jy for sources below the celestial equator)
These criteria ensure a high degree of statistical completeness for comparison with Monte Carlo simulations of relativistic beaming in flux-limited samples of jets.  The multi-epoch selection was done using data from the VLBA, the University of Michigan 26 m and RATAN 600 m telescopes.

Some sources from the original 2 cm Survey are no longer being monitored by our program, however, these may be added at a later time should Fermi indicate that they have interesting gamma-ray properties.  These can be found in this table of all AGN in the past 2 cm Survey and current MOJAVE programs.

The on-line data archive can be accessed via two pages:

1) All sources in both the VLBA 2cm Survey and MOJAVE programs.

2)
All sources in the MOJAVE-I sample only.
